The glamourous city at the foot of Africa - Cape Town - a fascinating multi-cultural melting pot of sights, sounds and experiences and a must on any Southern African itinerary. It is here that the shiny first world meets Africa head on. With a recognized foodie scene, stunning wineries and vineyards on your doorstep, sandy white beaches and towering mountains and trails, there is something in Cape Town for everyone.
Spent some time in the city itself discovering the leafy Company Gardens, the fascinating history of the Bo Kaap, the bustling waterfront with its gleaming shopping mall and multitude of restaurants and not to forget towering Table Mountain. Take a cable car to the top or pack a picnic and watch the sun set over the Atlantic from Signal Hill.
Travel along the coastal route taking in the platinum suburbs of Camps Bay and Clifton and along winding Chapmans Peak from the fishing village of Hout Bay to Cape Point. Delight in the quirky penguin colony at Simonstown and stop off at the stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
Further afield the villages of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek delight with their traditional Cape Dutch architecture, boutique shops and, did we mention the wineries?
