From the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, to the lakes of the Great Rift Valley, and the route of the wildebeests’ Great Migration, this safari includes the elephants of Amboseli, birdlife on the shores of Elementaita, and the Big Cats of the Masai Mara

Day 1:   Departure from Larnaca

Depart Larnaca on your overnight flight via Dubai, Doha or Cairo.

Arrival in Nairobi, transfer to the Radisson Blu Hotel for 1 night

Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Transfer this morning (4 hours) to the Amboseli National Park for two nights at the tented Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp.  Enjoy a first game drive in the National Park this afternoon where wetlands, woodlands and savannah as well as sulphur springs shape the landscape.  You will also see the dry landscape of the eponymous lake that gave Amboseli its name which translates as "Salty Dust".

Day 4: Amboseli
A full day game experience in the park, awarded UNESCO status as a Man and Biosphere Reserve, and nicknamed "Africa's Elephant Park".  Within its 151 sq miles two natural springs provide a natural water source and where acacia trees are the favoured foods of the giraffes.  The 56 animal species in the Park include the Big Five, along with wildebeest and wild dog, hippo, hyeana and herds of Grants gazelles.

Day 5: Lake Elementaita
Transfer through beautiful landscapes today to Lake Elementaita arriving in time for lunch and enjoy the afternoon at leisure.  With Euphorbia woodlands around its shores, it is home to many mammal species but is best known for its prolific bird life, and as a feeding ground for flocks of frothy-pink flamingoes.  An optional tour this evening visits the nearby Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive where waterbuck, white rhino and endearing warthogs are among the many resident species.  Overnight at the Sentrim Elementaita Lodge, on the Lakeshore.

Day 5: Masai Mara

Drive through the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara, so named after the ancient ancestral inhabitants of this area, the famed "Masai".  The word "Mara" is translated from their word for "spotted", in reference to the description of the Savannah landscape dotted with bushes, scrub and

clusters of trees.  An afternoon game drive is your introduction to this reserve.  Two nights at the Pride Inn Mara Camp by the banks of the River Talek.

Day 6: Masai Mara

Enjoy a full day game drive in the Big Five Reserve, home to elusive leopards, elephant families and hook-lipped black rhino's, herds of buffalo and iconic black-maned lions.  Seperated from the Serengeti by its name-sake river, the Masai Mara is at its most awesome during the famed Great Migration between the two reserves, usually July-September, when miles long herds of wildebeest and plains game stretches from horizon to horizon on their journey seeking sweeter pastures.
